A Brief History

Academia de Lipa (ADL) started its first school year in June 2013, with its programs from Kindergarten to Junior High School (Grade 10) housed in its three-story building in Brgy. San Sebastian, Lipa City. The school was led by Dr. Norma Blanco as the principal.

The pre-elementary and elementary departments were recognized by the Department of Education in 2014, while the secondary department was recognized in 2016.  Leadership also evolved in 2016 to adapt to the growing student body: Dr. Blanco was designated as Academic Affairs Head, while Ms. Maricel Aguilera and Ms. Ligaya Sangalang joined ADL as Grade School and High School principals, respectively.

The Senior High School department was also opened in SY 2016-2017 with three strands: Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and Home Economics (HE).  The next two years opened two more strands: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS).  By 2017, ADL was accredited by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) as an Education Service Contracting (ESC) partner, further empowering the school’s strong scholarship program that grants hundreds of students subsidized school fees.

Vocational Programs under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) were introduced in 2017: the school became an accredited assessment center for Pharmacy Services NC II.  In 2018, ADL was accredited as a training center for Bread and Pastry Production NC II.

By the end of 2018, in the school’s fifth year, the new four-story wing was completed, ready to welcome more students into its fast-growing community.
